Over 40.000 earthquakes recorded by CIVISA and hundreds felt in São Miguel Island. Earthquakes occurred on 20 September 2005 (ML 4.1) and 21 September (ML 4.0), causing concern on the island population. None or few buildings damaged during the swarms, but it caused several landslides on Fogo volcano flanks.
